Fox Global were recently called to site to assess a valve set-up at a pet food production facility. Two tanks were set up with bottom entry valves in the centre of each tank with less the 500mm clearance to the floor. The valves consisted of 2 inch ANSI150 flanges machined out to suit 2 1/2 inch pipe which then entered a 2 inch reduced port valve. The large reduction in the flow line was causing continual blockages and product build up.

With handle extensions required to reach the centre of the tanks and handle supports already fabricated to the tanks our solution would include utilising these existing supports. In short what needed to be achieved was a larger full flow valve set up from the tanks, create a suitable connection for a larger hose, connect valve handle extensions utilising current support dimensions all within 400mm.

With a modified ANSI150 Flange we converted the flow line from Pipe over to 3 inch Tube & Tri-Clover connection to take advantage of the short design of Stainless Steel Tri-Clover Ball Valve. We also then custom fabricated a Short Radius Tube 90deg Elbows to meet the 400mm overall working space and direct the product flow.

The goal was achieved with space to spare! The fabrication work was spot on and looks great.
